FUE hair transplant can be defined as is a method of extracting, or harvesting donor hair in a FUE hair transplant procedure. FUE Hair Transplant makes use of an instrument to create a small, circular incision in the skin surrounding a follicular unit, separating it from the tissues around the follicular unit. The unit is then extracted (pulled) directly from the scalp, without leaving any scar.

Minimally invasive and no scar hair transplant procedure

FUE hair transplantation, on the other hand, offers a number of advantages over FUSS procedures. FUE does not leave a linear scar, nor does it distort the growth angles of hair. FUE is a less invasive hair transplant procedure and therefore requires less healing and recovery time post-surgery.

Extraction of follicular unit is not restricted to one area

With FUE hair transplant, the donor hair available for extraction is maximized due to the ability of FUE surgeons to harvest hair from throughout the ‘permanent zone’, including nape hair, or even body hair. Additionally, FUE doctors can select the follicular units that will offer the most hairs per graft and produce an optimal yield. Conversely, strip procedures limit surgeons to using only those hairs found in a single strip of scalp tissue.

FUE uses hair transplant surgeons instead of surgical techs

Rather than leaving the important and delicate work of separating out the follicular units to surgical techs, FUE hair transplant doctors remove follicular units themselves. In addition to keeping much of the graft handling in the hands of the most educated and proficient person for the job, FUE grafts spend much less time outside of the body, ensuring maximal survival.

Low FUE transaction rate

In the hands of a skilled hair transplant surgeon, FUE transaction rates are extremely low and graft survival rates are very high. FUE procedures offer patients the potential for natural-looking hairlines and the overall aesthetic result. The results can be fantastic and once healed, it is very hard to tell that the procedure has been done at all.

Less complication rate

Hair transplantation has a low complication rate compared to other aesthetic surgical procedures. However, it can cause serious complications if proper attention is not given. But there are a wide range of possible complications that are less severe and manageable.

Shorter recovery time

Recovery takes about 3-5 days and while there are no stitches, you do have a number of little tiny scabs all over your head which can be covered with hair (or just open if the patient can shave their whole head to start with). Healing is faster and discomfort is less than linear strip harvesting.

Can shave or keep hair short in future

It is possible to shave your head after an FUE hair transplant, and we recommend waiting for 8-10 days before doing so. However, one shouldn’t wet shave the treated areas for at least 3 months after surgery.

Can continue to harvest more grafts for future FUE procedures

FUE Hair Transplant is not a one-time procedure. It is possible to harvest more grafts for future FUE procedures.

It’s absolutely necessary that you are well prepared for surgery to get the best results. First of all, you should get all your tests done and must submit the reports at the clinic well prior to the surgery. You should also discuss your existing medical conditions during the consultation and also get a third opinion from a specialist if need be.

One week before the surgery

Stop drinking alcohol or consume caffeine.

Two weeks before and after the surgery

Stop the intake of aspirin, thinner, & ibuprofen.

Three weeks before the surgery

Quit smoking.
